Mental Health Patient Transport

Safe, Compassionate and Professional Patient Conveyance

PSS Secure Transport provides specialist transport solutions for patients receiving care under the Mental Health Act 1983, as well as informal patients requiring safe and supportive transportation. Our approach focuses on dignity, safety, clinical partnership working, and patient wellbeing throughout every journey.

Transporting Patients Under the Mental Health Act 1983

We understand that transporting patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 requires professionalism, sensitivity, and careful risk management. Our specialist teams work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure every journey is conducted safely, respectfully, and in the best interests of the patient.

To support safe and appropriate transport arrangements, it is essential that all known risks and relevant clinical information are provided at the point of referral. This enables our team to assess the patient’s needs and determine whether the use of the secure compartment within the vehicle is clinically appropriate and necessary.

Patients receiving care on an informal basis are transported within the standard patient area of the vehicle.

At PSS, we understand that every patient journey is unique. Our teams are committed to delivering transport services that reduce distress, maintain dignity, and provide reassurance to patients, families, and healthcare professionals alike.
